How many bricks are needed per square metre?
For standard Australian bricks, approximately 50 bricks per square metre is commonly used as an initial estimate, although this can vary depending on brick dimensions, mortar joints and wall design.
How many Besser blocks are needed per square metre?
A standard 390mm × 190mm concrete masonry block generally requires approximately 12.5 blocks per square metre.
How many bricks do I need for a brick pier?
The number of bricks depends on the width, depth and height of the pier. Use the GDK Brick Pier Calculator above to get an approximate quantity.
Should I add extra bricks for waste?
Yes. Adding around 5–10% is generally useful to allow for cuts, breakages and wastage. More complicated brickwork may require a larger allowance.
